A10 oil pressure gauge.
« on: 29.06. 2021 03:16 »
Hi all, has anyone found a straightforward method of installing an oil pressure gauge on an A10? After a lifetime of working with heavy diesels I like to know what’s going on in the noisy bit under the tank. Apologies if this has been covered previously, I am new to the forum. I prefer not to drill and tap into the oil galleries if there is any other way.

I drilled and tapped a passage under the pressure relief valve bore that enters just in front of the relief valve on both of my A-10's. I know there is a thread about it with pix somewhere around here, but I'm not a good "searcher" either!

I haven’t fitted a gauge but did propose a possible design based on a modified PRV in this thread, it  needs someone to develop the idea further, unless its already been done by someone on this forum.

Many thanks for the responses, I had been looking at the PRV, but haven’t come up with a design. If you want to share your idea I am a long time machinist and currently own and operate a commercial machine shop. Perhaps we could produce something useful for the A10’s ?

Ok, just found your concept drawing, I have a spare PRV, I will take a look at it today to see if it is possible. Thanks.

This idea looks the dogs doo-dahs 👌

I'm just not sure there is room for that collar on the BSA;  might need to extend the body to get past the bulge on the crankcase.
