Well folks, just got an hour before work to do a couple of bits to the Ten, and with carb back on, downpipes on, all the plumbing done, clutch adjusted, etc I couldn't resist, despite knowing I wouldn't have time to ride it. So kicked the motor over without the plugs in until oil came trickling out of the return. Then plugs back in, fuel on, bit of a tickle, three kicks later, fired up for a couple of seconds then cut straight out, kicked over again several times with no hint of firing, tickled the carb again, fired up for a couple of seconds then cut out. Repeated this a few times, then noticed a drip of fuel on the tap spigot, the nut was loose so tightened that up, fired straight up and sounds sweet as (if a trifle loud without silencers on).
First thing I noticed when booting it over was it has loads more compression than it used to, like LOADS MORE!!
Oil return looks healthy, and was pretty much instant after kicking it over for what felt to my knee like quite a long time.
Anyway, silencers, seat, brake lever and footrest tomorrow before starting the running in and fettling process.
Thanks very much to everyone here for your patience, advice and counselling.
Bring on the summer
