small space above amal carb, hard to assembly
« on: 19.01. 2020 19:00 »
Hello, I am still wondering why there is so limited space above amal  279 DP/1A carb and frame BSA A7 1951 plunger. Do you have the same experience or do I have something wrong with my motorbike?
Thanks
Martin

You would gain a lttle space if you changed your cable adjusters to mid cable and top hat ferrules at the carb.

On my Plunger, and probably all others, I have to remove the carb to get the slide out. And assemble the carb before refitting it.

I fully agree with Neil and Julian. Top hats in my Amal 276 carb, with an adjuster in the cable, and fit the carb already assembled. It's a tight fit, but I guess that's how BSA did it?
