Nice one Richard! I too am having problems with the diet! On the other hand I recommissioned the Rotax Goldie and I'm enjoying riding that around, and I have plans to build another A10 like the red one I built last year, only green, or maybe blue!

*bright idea* start with two sets of tinware and paint one blue and one green and take turns swapping the red ones out- could save lots of time and expense  *beer*  *bright idea*

 Richard I'm assuming you've dropped 33lbs before you added the 8lb ?
I've dropped about 8kg (~17.6lb) by only eating every couple of days when the worms complain-  more *beer* trouble is my pants/ duds/ trousers/ jeans now slide down  *eek*
But resolution-wise, I don't resolute but if I  make it to the end of the day I'm happy..... there's always the next

G'day fellas.
Well last years NYRes has now well into it's second year and nothing has been done! Life and low income $ gets in the road.
Hay duTch, I had to put a few more holes in my belts since I lost weight through Diabetes. Now not eating sugar and cutting back on wheat products I feel great. If you don't eat you don't shit, if you don't shit you die!
Cheers

That's right Richard, but the Cafe is a little harder to kick over! For every action there's an equal and opposite reaction.
When I raced people would ask why I replaced everything with alloy instead of just loosing a few pounds off my beer belly. Sacrilege!
Cheers

I thought it would be timely to revive this thread which first went live in January 2018. The title  '..... a challenge to you all' gives everybody on the forum an opportunity to prepare for the challenge which I will throw down on 1st January! Don't say what your New Year's Resolution is yet, keep your powder dry until 1st Jan!

Well spend some of the dosh that you have saved on grub to buy a belt.

Apart from jeans when needed, I usually wear workpants because they're more comfortable and fit better (well they did) but they are not as well 'tailored' anymore.... And I do wear belts, in fact I feel undressed if I step out without, which I did on one occasion a while ago but it wasn't convenient to go back (over the road) to get one, so cut the belt loops off to compensate...... Long story- yea had to be there  *smile*

Sorry B-macc, I'm with you..... *beer*

....but seriously, here goes! I plan to lose at least a stone in weight so I should be less than 16 stone by Christmas 2020. Most importantly I aim to restore the RGS which was dredged up out of the River Mersey in 1980. I was looking for some photos of the bike when it came into my possession but can't find them on my PC because I am hopelessly disorganised.

After smoking for 25 years, then 'stopped' by going over to non-smoke tobacco for a little period ...that lasted 20 more years (see https://apnews.com/84141a5ce4d04dffa33341402ba75eeb very popular over here), just as addictive but saved lungs and heart etc, with no absolute proof yet of any cancer risk, f.ex. Norwegian boxes only labeled "could damage health" (which is wording they could put on chocolate bars & potato chips as well :O). Then slowly replacing that with nicotine chewing gum etc on and off for some years.

2020 the year I will seriously try (succeed) to not use any tobacco products at all. So far so good (since 1st desember actually). Now to prepare for how to get rid of an acute chewing gum addiction, maybe start smoking again :O)

Took 1 week to start regular smoking, 45 years trying to quit.

I could do with losing a couple of stone (12 kg or so). Working on it.
As ever I have a bunch of motorcycles (and my tandem) that need attention.
I ought to sell the Kawa H1 and Sunbeam S7 to at least part fund a DTRA race bike and a flat head Harley beach racer.
I wanna get onto a 4 day working week, then I might have more chance on some of the above.
Maybe.
