Rear brake lining dodgy
« on: 21.08. 2019 13:57 »
It looks like a lump, (it was still in there) of brake lining material has broken away and then ground away at the edge of the linings. You can see the scuffing in the corner of the drum. Rather lucky that the blighter didn't jamb the back brake on solid while I was riding!

I'm looking for recommendations for the best replacement shoes for a 7" half-width drum.

Give Kidderminster M/C's a ring, old school service and very wise. They advertise in OBM.

Our wonderful non-asbestos modern linings. Cardboard glued to a shoe. I always add a few rivets to bonded linings. Don't trust them otherwise.

I ordered some rear shoes from  C&D Autos and they sent me a pair of Ferodos - Might be worth a try

Fecked are offering Ferodo lined shoes at the moment. Should we assume that the Ferodo name means the materiel is OK for old bikes?

Hi Neil,

Mine seem to work OK even though my drum is not in the best condition, bit odd can't seem to find any for the front and have EMGO fitted -sort of OK, massive improvement from whatever was in there before.
