Ignition leads routing on plunger A10 ?
« on: 09.10. 2022 14:22 »
Hello ,

Im trying to route the HT leads to run as tidily as possible yet missing the rocker box ?

Does Anyone have a picture of the original BSA Factory layout please ?
There is so little room above rocker box & I dont want them to touch it anywhere ?

Thank You,
Steve..
I own a 1955/56 B.S.A Swinging Arm "Golden Flash" , had it since 1976 .

I don’t worry about plug leads touching an alloy rocker box.

You’ve got to keep them off the head and cylinder, or they can melt.

On the swinging arm bikes the leads go through a short length of sleeving vertically and branch to their respective plugs. The cut-out wire also goes through the sleeve.

I have always run mine up through the "Y" at the back of the head and then branch out to either side. I have added a pic which hopefully will show it. I have done this with every A10 I have owned plus quite a few other peoples bikes. Its not "correct" but is neat. If your plug leads melt on the head then you need to buy some decent quality leads.
