Ah yes my mate bought one of those years ago and still swears by it. I used it quite a lot welding up rusty cars but as a lefty I kept bumping the gas settings. I will definitely investigate stainless welding, I tried TIG years ago when I managed to wheedle a turn out of one of the specialists welding a pin rail on a sailing ship I had a job on. I kept shorting the tip and he ended the lesson pdq.

Rim arrived and the chrome Platters did their usual excellent job. The bike is all back together with brakes that no longer judder, rings that seal, rims that aren't faux RGS and a carrier for carrying stuff I might want.
Hooray!

Cheers all, very pleased with the outcome. Of course having just got the bike back on the road the weather has crapped out bigtime. Looking forward to a spot of dry weather to give it a decent run!
