suzuki front end on A10
« on: 08.03. 2019 15:45 »
Hi folks,

Am making steady progress with the A10 framed project. I'm fitting Suzuki forks and yokes, as this seemed (when I  started this project) one of the few ways to get disc brakes with a spoked wheel.
Anyway, I seem to recall someone on this site mentioning the same plan. Of course the BSA / Suzuki headstock bearings are incompatible - I intend using Suzuki taper brgs and fitting sleeves in the frame, but one remaining problem is how to create a steering limit stop. At present I plan to fabricate something along the lines of the A series bracket to line up with the stops on the bottom yoke. Anyone any better ideas?

RD fella I ordered my bearings from marksman industrial because of the size I needed for the bottom of the suzi stem which is 30mm and the featherybed frame 52mm local supplier didn't deal with that size only 28mm . phone number is 01252 345455  they are on the web with a lot of pics and prices.

Could something like the Manx steering damper arrangement be used for the lock stops?

Thanks for the input folks.
TT - that's similar to the A series anchor plate (different shape).
With the Suzuki (GT750) front end, judging by the lugs on the stem, presumably the stops were an integral part of the headstock. If following the BSA / Norton route I'll need to fabricate something on the base of the stem to locate the anchor plate. Fortunately there are lugs below as well as above the Suzi bottom yoke.
