Does anyone have pictures of, or know of, a good set of leather or synthetic saddlebags that would look good with a deep-sided rear fender on a swingarm?

On a more serious note, finding a decent picture of an A10 with saddlebags on proved quite difficult, also not knowing which style you are after didn`t help, but anyway here is a nice pic.

That's a great picture, thanks. I wonder if that is as close to a "full dress" bike as was available off the showroom floor?

I was out yesterday and stopped at a local motorcycle dealer, mostly Honda, but a big variety of aftermarket parts. I took a saddlebag, not unlike the one in the picture, and held it up to my bike. What I realized is that, because I have the later wide seat, a saddlebag with a structured cover (5 sides) won't open, as the seat is in the way. I'm tossing around getting a new seat of the narrower type. In my opinion, they look better because they are more formed to the shape of the bike, though, some here have said that the wider seat is better for the pillion rider. For now, the bags and new seat are on hold.

The picture that Flasblack put on of the Royal Tourist is interesting. Here is a picture of a A10 that is for sale here in Aus at a dealers. I thought it had some aftermarket racks etc on it but by the looks of it the stuff is all genuine. This particular bike may be a US import or maybe all the stuff was also available here in AUS.

Actually, bags like that would probably work better on my bike because they don't have the structured tops, which otherwise hit my wide western style dual seat and, therefore, don't open fully.

I will say that the wider seat does indeed make a much better ride than the narrower seat which does seem higher.

Can't you just do some "cutting & shutting"  I've found throw over panniers tend to droop on the heaviest side unless you put exactly the same weight in each one. I would feel inclined to use standard bags but cut the joining fabric and bolt each one either to the mudguard or the underside of the dual seat.
