WTB: A10 SA Sidestand Frame Lug
« on: 15.09. 2018 22:51 »
Anyone have a spare A10 swingarm sidestand half lug? The part that welds to the frame. I have an original sidestand, don’t want to get a clamp on type and willing to pay. My lower tubes are rusty and needs replacing and sadly the lug is damaged.

Hi,
I have been looking for the same 1/2 lug for several years, eventually I have one part made, waiting to get back to the project

Where did you get one made from? Did they do a good job?

Don’t want to resort to buying a frame just to cut it off.

G'day bd.
Why not get that bit off a clamp on stand, make it fit nice to the tube and weld/braze it on.
Cheers

Yes having just explored this area I dont believe the lug is ever welded to the frame. The retaing cap is brazed in place but the lug is bolted on.

I beg to differ, Slymo.
I have seen a couple of frames with a one piece lug brazed to the frame.
It was obviously slipped on before the frame was welded up.

Hi b drivers,
I carved the part from a piece of steel plate *work*
I have the inner profile finished and outside shape  needs final shaping and the holes drilling and tapping to suit the outer half I recently got from Billybream

My Plunger has that. Don't all early bike have the same? I just needed the leg to attach to the mounting.

Hi All,
Attached is a photo of the blank frame lug I carved from some steel plate
It is probably a thicker section than original but that can be trimmed if required  *work*
