Parcel2go???
« on: 05.09. 2018 00:30 »
Has anyone used a UK shipping service called Parcel2go? I ordered a pair of shocks from the UK for the Velocette. Got a notification that they've been shipped (to USA) with expected delivery 11/9! Are they traveling by rowboat?

That probably means 11th September, not 9th November...?

I looked at that date and thought; 11th September? That's not too bad. As Beezermacc has pointed out, you probably see 9th October.

I'll bet you're right. I forgot that in the USA we write dates reverse of Europe, so to us 11/9 is Nov 9.

We say 9/11.

I suppose logically we should show Year, Month, Day: 2018/09/05, or 18/09/05

It's very generous of you to not blame Europe. It's quite possible that your method is more correct than ours.

Just found this:
Why is the most common date format in the US like mm/dd/yyyy , whereas in Europe (including the UK) it's more common to have dd/mm/yyyy?
Looking around, I found that the US form is actually the more traditional Anglo-Saxon way, but the British adapted to using the European form in the early 20th Century.

It depends which Courier P2G use, they use various companies like Hermes and many others. Mine are always tracked by the bar code.

There’s another nag with dots and commas. Tried to extract some data at work the other day to make some calculations in an excel sheet but couldn’t make sense. Struggled about two hours over it until the penny dropped. The data where American format and my excel calculated in European format... *problem*

Been there, done that. Wrote a bit of VBA code to disect the dates and reassemble them in UK format.
