BSA A7 star twin
« on: 13.08. 2018 15:13 »
Hello I thought I might introduce myself, and more importantly my A7 just purchased...... my long tourer is a 2018 fat boy however I just purchased this old 1952 plunger and what a absolute treat to ride the seat is very comfortable the handling is superb and the ride just lovely, of course brakes and gears are on the wrong side so I’m getting use to them..... I live in the Malvern hills so great to just do a circuit before dinner.... lots of oil all over the place but I’m sure I’ll find out from where once I stop the novelty riding anyway that’s me I’m 65 still drive a 44 tonner for pocket money, get in touch anytime John hayes uk at gmail. Com

Hi John, Welcome to the forum. So nice to hear that you're pleased with your purchase. I am bitterly regretting having sold mine a few short years back. Love to see some photos its a little frustrating to view the small clip in your profile. Here's mine that I sold on.....

yes that's something I've been intending to address since the other week- even the level screw doesn't work for me, but I'll deal with it in the appropriate place  *conf2*

Hi John,
Welcome to what is probably the best beer forum in the world.
We lived in Malvern for 30 years until we moved to Leamington Spa four years ago. That circuit around the hills is great on a motorbike, isn't it?

BS... Where you parked looked like you paid a visit to the Leadhills Narrow Gauge Railway.... Did you then take the route back through Wanlockhead and through the Menock towards Sanquar? (Sanquillah the kids called it)  Lovely ride if so.

I agree that it looks so right...BUT it is sooo wrong! When I had this bike I had a spare front end from a 1940 M20 and decided to remove the stock front end and replace with this. It made a most wonderful ride and gave a very vintagey look.

Took in Menock and the Dalveen Pass with the Clyde Valley section VMCC but the Wanlockhead railway wasn't operating that day unfortunately. Glorious riding country. 2 of us got some raised eyebrow looks for leaving the pack behind and turning up at the lunch stop a long time before the rest...
