Hi All,
I have seen those cheapo £25-30 stands fail in no time  *eek*
The lugs with the U bracket look feeble compared to the original weld/braze one side and bolt on the stand side
in my opinion
The swing arm A7/10 frame tubes are about 90 thou wall thickness so easily damaged
I have made the inner half clamp about 5/16in. thick to take the bolt threads but still need to shape the ends around the bolt holes
I am thinking about how to make the stand side half lug from a solid lump  *work*

I turned a piece of steel into a well fitting tube, then sliced it in half.

I cut out the side stand pivot and welded it up.

The welds look great in person, not good on camera *conf* the light and shadow from the powder coat does not very funny things.

I had bought a clamp on lug, but after looking it over I did my own thing. It was not made well, and the material it was made from was suspect.

I could see it slipping around on the frame tube and dumping the bile. *sad2*

Maybe i should just try and get a centre stand instead!  *sad2*

I will get the welder set on high and get some thick steel plate and fabricate something.  *smile*

Not sure who the OP was but I remembered a request for one last week at Newark 'jumble when I saw this one....

Still need one?

It cost me £15. Used, off a frame but looks sound.

Paul.
