that might work, I'd be interested to hear if anyone knows? from some responses to my fork dilemma, I may not have the correct style forks either (they may be victor, or late 60's)
just wanted to say how nice it is to finally have spares!! my shift lever dropped a couple days ago, thought I had punched it down to fourth but it seemed to run at high RPM. no tach or speedo, so I had to guess. but a couple dinks on the lever produced no further shifting, so I assumed I was just in fourth and left it be. then realized that I had no third!! once I realized this, I knew I could gently lift the lever with my toe to reset it, and that the spring must have broken.
got to take it apart last night and found the gear selector spring had indeed snapped right in half!! luckily I now have two gearboxes not on a bike, so I took the older of the two and removed the spring from that one! buttoned her all back up and rode to work today, like a dream! the new one is even a little stiffer than the original.
not two years ago it would have been a trip to the north, or a long awaited order from Domiracer. now if I can just figure out how to have all this stuff with me on a road trip!
