Hi guys,
I finally got all the bits and pieces necessary to put my subject carb on my 57 RR. I have it running fairly well, but I'm not clear on how to properly employ the "air valve." I have it cabled to a lever on my right side handlebar, but what is/was the original intent on adjusting it underway? I'm guessing to lean/richen the mixture as necessary, but I have to admit I'm not good enough on that to make small adjustments that would probably be beneficial. Also, when heated up the idle is too fast, even with the slide all the way down. The slide does have some wear, but I'm not sure where the number is on it to see if I even have the correct slide (#6?). I have the needle in the #3 slot from the top to compensate for wear (should be #4). Jet and needle are correctly sized (340 & 109).
