WA VMCC Woodies Run
« on: 02.01. 2017 01:50 »
Hi all,
The last run of the the year for the Western Australian Vintage Motorcycle Club was on the last day of the year; about 110 Kms to Woodman Point (on the coast), then into Fremantle for wood fired pizzas; and weren't they nice!

My friend Mario rode my Super Rocket, and I took the B31 on it's second run.

Here are some pics.

Check out the 1953 73cc Moto Guzzi; one of three in Oz. Found languishing in boxes in a corner of the club spares shed. I passed it twice, yet he was only 5 minutes behind the main group, in the end!

I had the pleasure of following behind the Mach 3, savouring the two stroke aroma, and wishing I still had an RD350.

The last pic was taken at the Gidgiegannup Cafe yesterday; another 110 km jaunt through the hills. Geoff left his Super Rocket at home and took the Harley. The rigid A10 hadn't started in 12 months; fired first kick, and settled into that glorious brumble. I had forgotten what a beautiful bike this is to ride; good acceleration, plenty of torque, good front forks, nimble, precise handling, good brakes, excellent clutch (standard 6 spring) and a gearbox with silky shifts. I won't mention the whine in third gear, or the blow to the backside when you hit a bump or pothole!

Great pics Richard.

I hope the owner of the Mach111 had the decency to put a tea spoon full of Castrol R in the tank for you.

Great pics. Thanks for posting, Richard.

I take it the yellow vests are Aussie law. Not stylish, but probably a good idea.

Hi Richard,
No the vests are not law, but the club had them made; they have the VMCCWA name and  logo on the back and cost bugger all ($10). We just want to be seen (safe).

Ah! If it's club-wear, it's stylin' Safe is a good thing.
