bob newby clutch

any one had any experience of a bob newby clutch and belt drive? just got one to fit to my A7ss . i know they need some ventilation to make them work properly and wondered how best to do this while still keeping it looking original .

yes me
All my bikes run with BNR or NEB belt drives. No drag and slip,no oily spots easy to fit its plug and play.
Its a fairy tale that the belt need ventilation, doing this for years without and still runs with no problems.
It worth the money

Another vote here, for what Klaus says.  I've been using a Synchroflex belt, like what NEB uses (I think) without case ventilation for many years.

If you chicken out and want discreet ventilation, make gaps in the primary case gasket.

I recently fitted a Bob Newby clutch with belt drive and the advice he gave me was that no ventilation is needed for normal use. With having a rrt2 gearbox he suggested leaving the drain plug out and fitting small O rings over the screws before replacing the chain case which leaves a small gap which is not noticeable. They are not cheap but beautifully engineered and i think worth every penny.

 I have one on another bike and can't fault it.

 Very robust, earlier this year I dropped a screwdriver while fiddling with the carbs and it fell onto the bottom belt run  and round the rear pulley till it hit the chain and battery carrier - horrendous noise. No damage to belt or pulley but side of battery carrier bent .

 It has also munched a glass fuse so keep important body parts well clear.

I can recommend (BNR) them too, yes mine is ventilated and both inner and outer heavily cut away so I can strip very easily, but its also lugging two middle aged blokes off the line with a third wheel and no mercy given.
no problems in the six years its been fitted and raced.
But I'd agree with Klaus, ventilation not necessary.
