(So many possibilities with too many differences. Pin size, crown height etc. Now that I have nice new R&R rods I don't want anything chewing on those.)
Hi Musky, can you tell me a bit more about the " R&R" rods.

G'day Pato. Their too beautiful to hide inside a motor. I got them from Fecked http://www.feked.com/bsa-a10-1959-63-connecting-rod.html . I should have weighed them but they felt pretty close. The little end pin runs direct in the rod (no bush) and the bolts are done up to 50ft/lb. For the large journal crank.

Those rods look very similar to the MAP rods I bought for my RGS
Theres a sequence for tightening the ARP bolts and checking the bolt stretch on each tighteniong
Did the y send the ARP bolt lube?

Following on from the B31 suggestion, I have a 10:1 A10 +60? piston that has been machined at the bottom of the skirt to fit in a B31 (same pin size and comp height)
So the reverse should work? B31's are 71mm std so a +040 would equal A10 +80
Theres an earlier BSA Blue /silver star piston that offers a higher compression ratio than the flat topped B31

Much as it pains me to do so, I would be prepared to let you have these bare babies if you make me a reasonable offer. All my bores are still much smaller...

JP's   *evil*   dont' do it.

These are 10.5:1

At least rings are easy, triumf +40 ones as 650 triumfs have a mm bigger bore size

That's a mighty fine offer mate and yes they'd be hard to let go. I have a set of +10 and +30 of those. They are a nice piston with offset pin.
JP's would be my last choice, haven't heard back from them yet. See how I go with John's suggestion.

I can always do a straight swap for your set of bare +30 if that helps, I've got two motors on +20 so I can see a set of +30 going onto Bender on its next strip.

Regarding  those high comp pistons,
At a show and jumble at the weekend a friend of mine had a set of "Powermax" 10:1 std bore for sale
I can arrange contact if anyone is interested
