New Member to the World of BSA

Hello
My name is Martin, I live in Lucerne, Switzerland. Since April I own a Golden Flash from 1957. It is in very good conditions (except the electrics), so there will be only small modifications so far. But it's good to know a bunch of riders in the background, as I am sure, there will be questions...

 welcome Martin, nice looking bike, you're our first member from Switzerland and obviously a person of good taste to have chosen a BSA particularly an A10. They can drive you mad but mostly they'll put a smile on your face enjoy the bike ,you'll find this place full of good knowledgeable people who will be able to help with anything you may need ! A long time ago, i've been riding a run-of-the-mill Honda Dominator. Now, I decided to look for a bike I can literally feel when riding. Some friends of mine have Triumphs and Nortons but I wanted something a bit more special...

Wow, that machine looks really good. Has it been restored?

If you haven't already got the message the sludge trap that is inside the crankshaft is a possible source of engine failure if it has not been cleaned out.

Welcome Martin. A great looking Bike you have there. Nice and shiny ariel hubs like my bike.l, except mine arent as shiny  *eek*

It looks like it has road rocket parts?

G'day Martin  *welcome*.
Very nice looking bike mate. I'd call her a Road Rocket with the very desirable twin carb head. The inlet manifold can be unbolted and twin carbs fitted with the correct manifolds.

Well, as far as I know the story of the bike it must have been originally a black (and chrome) golden flash. The previous owner changed it to this Road Rocket look-a-like. It has been restored a few years ago and not been moved to much.
One day I may change a few things back to black...
But first of all, I have to find out, why the dynamo ist not charging the battery. I did a few test already, some more will come as soon as there is some time left. I will let you know the results. Maybe I ask you a few questions, if I can't find the answers in the forum...
