Hi i am trying to finish my 1958 flash but i have a bent o/s footrest tube this is the short one on the right side of the engine mine is bent and the new rod that holds both the tubes together will not go through. If anybody has one i am willing to pay any costs. The part no is 42-4806 and the tube is 3inch long thanks.

When I've come across this problem I cut them ( not quite all the way through) and weld up with an arc welder after straightening.

That is a good repair . These tubes are like rocking horse poo 8 yrs ago I tried for weeks to replace mine no good in the end i found a brass bearing and slid that over the tube but fitted inside the footrest and it hasn't moved sinc e and in that time I haven't seen one of these for sale .

Thanks Cheeser Beezer and Topdad I think that's a good idea I will try that. If I put a solid bar inside it should end up straight thanks again for the idea. Bobflashman.
