Title: What bike is this
Post by: Worty on 06.01. 2024 17:34
Anyone identify this bike from 'All the light we cannot see'.

First impressions were a Velo, then Norton, could be a 'hybrid'?

Nothing on that is remotely Velo. That gearbox is an early BSA heavyweight one isn't it?
French Mongrel? Les Metis?

Does say 'Newman' on the tank, could be Martinsyde-Newman, but I think they were V twins.

Think you could be right in saying it's a bit of a mongrel.

The prize goes to you Rex - spot on.  Read it as Newman.  Time period is correct too.  Well done mate! *respect* *respect*
