G'day Fellas.
My clubs annual rally was held on the weekend at the clubs 50 acre block of bush 4Km from Nerriga. I had to drive (300Km) down Friday with club gear and supplies.
Numbers were down probably due to last years two weeks of rain prior (everyone got bogged) or this years forecast of 90Kph winds (it probably got to 70Kph). 150 bikes, 250 people, 50 members & band. 100 HD's, 49 other and ONE BSA a 1950 A10. He entered most of the gymkhana events, Slow race, Drag race, Slalom, Barrel race and Musical bikes. He won Oldest Combined Bike & Rider. The Iron Guts comp was fun to watch.
After the bonfire was lit (with a scooter on top) the band started up and we all tried hard to empty the grog fridge. By Sunday arvo there wasn't much left.
It was a long, slow drive home Monday.
Cheers

I came second one year, beaten by my girlfriend!

Didn’t see a nod to BSA in the signage onstage or in the plaques behind you in the group photo, but maybe I missed it, or it’s out of view. Glad to see you are recycling 13 fridges full of beer cans and bottles. *smile*

G'day Richard.
There is a BSA sign on the right side wall.
There was another bin full as well. We give it all to the local Bush fire brigade. At 10c a can/bottle it gives them a few $$$.

Two weekends ago, I attended an event in Chicago called Motoblot (motoblot.com) and entered my bike in the Vintage British class. I was beat out by a very clean, but (IMHO) not as interesting, Norton. To avoid such futile efforts at recognition in the future, after losing, I suggested to one of the judges that they initiate an award for combined age of rider and bike plus round-trip to the event. My total was 203. Thinking further on that, combined age of rider and bike, only, would have been better for me, that would be 143.

Oops! Tornado waring in my area. Need to scoot to the basement. I'll check back, I think.

G'day Jools.
Yes, these days 95% of the rally participants are grey beards. Not many under 50. We're a dying breed *sad2*
