Wow mate. I'd leave all the patina and just make sure everything mechanical (motor, g/box, brakes etc) is up to scratch.

Musky's and Scotty's 2 cents' worth would be mine too.
Beautiful thing - love the high pipes. Very similar curves to those on my P11 desert sledge - compliments from here can come no stronger than that!

i should have said according to UK bsa club the motor and frame left the factory together in the devon red. and yes it is staying as is. it was dispatched to rich child in sept. of 1950.
