Title: Read before posting: Good Communications When Trading
Post by: RichardL on 21.01. 2016 17:55
Maybe a couple of conditions-of-use for the "Wanted & For Sale" category should be:

1. A seller post immediately when the item is gone.
2. A hunter post immediately when they have found what they were trying to buy.

Saves some trouble for buyers and sellers.

And of course, when posting, please follow the board rule.

>>>> 'Wanted' \ 'For sale' (or similar) in the title <<<<

And when all done, original poster could (should) edit title, something like 'SOLD' or 'GOT IT' in topic title in 1st post.

Slightly less important, but an 'hooray - fixed it' is also nice once proffered advice has been employed and has worked.

Reminder:

state 'Wanted' \ 'For sale' (or similar) in the title.
It's a requirement \ rule for posting in this board.

As a result of this requirement (and my post being consequently edited) I have regrettably had to remove the post. I deliberately avoided using the word 'wanted' in order to mitigate - as far as is possible - scammers from around the globe relieving me of my money.

^^^ Very faint chance of that ever happening here (unless some hack that also could happen to your bank, hospital or NASA :O)

To clear things up:

- Only logged-in members can contact anyone on the forum (PM, alt. email if allowed).

- "Allow users (= logged-in members) to email me" must be explicitely allowed. Off in stock settings \ during registration.

- For non logged-in members \ guests \ scammers \ whatever, clicking on a member name to gain access to profile info = 'nope' (see attachment).

Generally keep email hidden, unless for some very special reason really wanting to show one's email to all other members. Use PM for any contact.

= even if some undesirable creature should manage to register > no email shown, + can't send PM as PM activation follows a period of legit activity\posts (monitored by moderators).
