Hi,

Abandoned project  *sad2*

For sale: Job lot of BSA Long Stroke engine parts; some of the covers have had a hard life by the looks of it and will need repairing - photos make them look better than they are!

The crank has been re-ground some time ago but not used - however the flywheel bolts/counterweight have been removed by previous owner (hard to acquire I gather). The bush is brand new.

The head is really only good for donor parts unless you're pretty handy at re-constructing cast iron products!  Barrels have one broken fin.

Cases look in good order and there are some difficult to get hold of parts (so I was told) - see the photos.

Open to sensible offers as a job lot - collection only.  Questions expected and it would be best to view first.  Based in the Midlands - UK.

Possible to help with delivery if in Yorkshire, Lancs, Lakes areas - likely to be travelling that way over the spring/summer.

Cheers

RoadRunner.

Hi llewi64,

I'd prefer to sell as a job lot, but assume you know the cases for the longstroke plunger (1948/49) and short stroke (1950 onwards) are very different - dates are approximate as I'm no expert in the exact history of each model.  If still interested please PM me.
Cheers

Hi Joginder Deol those plates are easy to make they are not critical as long as they do the job.

Interested particularly  in head, barrels, camshaft, crank & cases but will consider all if necessary.

Is there problem with the head apart from fin breakage?  Can you give me bore diameter of barrels?  Crank journal diam?

Would you consider shipping in box to Australia if we settle on purchase price?

Good luck with the camshaft, Harry. Most are so badly worn that they are useless.

Could you give me a ballpark figure GBP as to what you're thinking of for the lot? Still interested.

Hi Harry,
Apologies - didn't get an email saying you'd posted a message.  I'll have look at the parts and try and give you the anwsers!  If unsure I'll send some better photos.  As for price - no idea and I guess the cost of exporting will be costly??  Will have a think and see what carriage costs are likely to be.
Is that okay?

Cheers

Thanks RoadRunner. Some specs on crank journal  diameters and cylinder bores would be helpful to me. Yes shipping would be costly but I'd be interested in an estimate of items and shipping. Cheers

Hi Jo,
Yes - all the parts are still available - I don't seem to get notification of messages posted; so apologies any members I appeared to have ignored.  I'm in the Midlands, 30 mins from M1 Jnc.24 or Jnc.28.
Cheers
