Hello All,

Thanks for all the interesting replies to my original question.

I've now fitted a new circular air filter housing, which came with an element and an adapter ring to screw it on to my 276 monobloc carb. I got this from my local classic bike workshop - 'Forest Classics' which is located in the New Forest near Southampton and run by Kevin, who is very helpful.
I'm still on the lookout for an element for the original square air filter case though.

Incidentally, I did see a square air filter case with element advertised on ebay today, although the element and spring clip didn't look exactly like the pictures in the parts book.

The bike is running well with the new filter and I'm enjoying the unseasonally fine weather in the UK at the moment doing as many miles as possible.

Cheers

Jon H

Hi Jon...

Got my eye on that air filter box on ebay as well.... Hands off!  :D It does say that its an 1960 - 62 and listed in that years manual. you might have an older catalogue.

Looking at your new photo on the side shows that your bike might just be of the later years too. Nice photo! I dont know if there are many A10s around in the blue colours, mine did have this colour under the rear mudguard at one time.

Enjoy the late summers riding... I most certainly am!  ;D

No, they seemed to want me to send banknotes through the post. I sent them an email this week asking if I could pay electronically, using IBAN and BIC numbers but no reply so far  :(

About BAS sweden, I've sent them cash trough registered mail before, no problem, but no idea why they prefer that, maybe it saves bank charges but obviously less secure if one is very unlucky. All parts always arrived and were of good quality. One detail there was once, got a set of two new plunger silencers, but they were from different manufacturers with -slightly- different look (and sound maybe?). I mentionned this to BAS, and they sent me one more silencer free of charge and I could keep the extra one to avoid me paying any freight expenses for the return, ain't that good service?

There is a difference between A7 and A10 air filter rubbers because A7 and A10 engines are different hieghts. An  A7 fuel tank wont fit on A10 and A7 exhaust pipes are not the same and wont fit on an A10. I know an A10 owner that purchased an after market rubber and it didnt fit because of the height difference. I want an A10 plunger air filter rubber  so if anyone knows a supplier please let me know. The ones you see for sale I am told are for A7. I dont know if if anyone is doing both. regards Terry
